The 6pin to dual 8 (6+2) pin GPU power cable is suitable for computer case and can be used for switching power supply of graphics card. When the 6Pin power cable of the host power supply is not long enough, it can be extended with this cable. The graphics card 8Pin is a combination of 6Pin+2Pin. You can remove the 2Pin and use it on the graphics card of 6Pin interface.
The 6pin to dual 8 (6+2) pin GPU power cable can add two additional PCIE Express ports to the existing power supply. Check that your PSU is rated to power the video graphics card.
